As a somatic therapist, I focus on helping you to become present and embodied. During childhood, our bodies develop ingenious ways of leaving the present moment to cope with stress. These coping mechanisms might include shutting down, disconnecting, relying on substances, trying to control everything, or staying perpetually busy (among others). While these adaptations may have served us in the past, they often persist into adulthood and surface automatically during times of overwhelm or challenging life experiences such as infertility, pregnancy loss, pregnancy and postpartum. To access and shift these survival patterns, we must work through the nervous system. We will work together to become aware of the state of your nervous system and recognize dominant survival patterns that no longer serve you. I find immense joy in guiding clients to bring their bodies out of a fight-or-flight state and into the parasympathetic state. It is in this state of calmness and connection that we can experience true presence and healing.

Through this process, I will help you to move from a place of imprint—the learned patterns, validations, and conditioning of the past—to the blueprint of your true higher self or what I call the “wise feminine self”.
