Infertility

The road to conception can be exciting, scary, overwhelming, frustrating, and exhausting all at once. Every fertility journey is unique and can be filled with unexpected challenges relating to a variety of reproductive conditions, unexplained infertility or pregnancy loss due to miscarriage. No matter the cause of your difficulty, it is normal to feel alone or left behind, sad, anxious, stressed, or a powerful sense of loss of the hope that it would be easy to conceive. It is also normal for it to be extremely difficult to let go of a planned timeline for your pregnancy and you may feel overwhelmed by choices and decisions, and a profound sense of a loss of control.

Infertility is often experienced as:

  • extremely stressful,

  • feeling alone or isolated in your experience

  • feelings of overwhelming sadness or emotionally exhausted

  • feelings of depression or anxiety

  • feeling overwhelmed by fertility treatments, investigations, and choices

  • feelings of anger, envy or resentment toward others.

In our counselling sessions, I help you to let go of control and surrender to the experience of your fertility journey so that it is no longer taking over your life. We work together to process the emotions and experiences that have happened throughout this journey, to develop new ways of coping, to bring your nervous system into a parasympathetic state and to heal from old wounds that may be reappearing during this stressful time.

Infertility Counselling might include:

o   Emotional support: We will explore and make sense of mental and emotional challenges including grief and loss, guilt, anger, shame, and sadness.

o   Coping tools: I will help you build the skills you need to manage the stress around your fertility journey.

o   Decision Making: I will support you in deciding whether to seek reproductive technology interventions including IFV and IUI, and discuss other paths toward expanding your family such as surrogacy, adoption and other options.

o   Womb energy healing
